Set in a peaceful location alongside the River Dever, this charming thatched cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside that is perfect for all manner of outdoor pursuits. The historic city of Winchester is a short car journey away and offers a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, ideal for a relaxed day spent browsing. Should you be able to tear yourself away from the tranquillity of the cottage, you will find many attractions such as Stonehenge, Salisbury and Avebury are easily accessible, ensuring there is no shortage of things to do here. Why not try your hand at fly fishing in the nearby Test Valley or simply enjoy long country walks with your four legged friends. Tucked up a quiet lane, through automatic wooden gates you will find Riverside Cottage. There is ample parking and a small gate and a path leads you to the beautiful cottage front door with roses either side. A spacious entrance hall with separate WC, piano and wood burner leads firstly into the lounge where you can relax, with its open fire and plenty of character features. To the right of the hallway is a bright lower ground floor bedroom. Next step into the stunning open-plan conservatory/diner where there is a large table, perfect for leisurely meals overlooking the garden. Just next door is the charming country kitchen. This space is well-equipped with an AGA, electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. An adjacent utility room houses a washing machine and additional fridge. Opposite is a cosy snug with wood burner. From the dining hall there are double doors leading to a staircase which takes you to a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom. There is another staircase from the entrance hall which takes you to a further two bedrooms. One is a cosy king-size bedroom (restricted head height in places) and the other is a pretty double, with sofa bed. A bathroom with shower and WC can be found off the hallway. Please note the first floor of the cottage is peppered with low ceilings, level changes and charming character features. Heading outside, the expansive enclosed cottage garden offers a choice of seating areas, pretty borders and rolling lawns. To the front of the property is the River Dever, which is accessed just across the lane, care to be taken with children and pets when outside of the enclosed garden. For the younger members of the family there is a swing and slide and level lawns ideal for ball games. Off-road parking for five cars is available. Yoga, spa treatments, local produce and art workshops are available within the grounds on request direct with the owner.
