Bridport, Dorset and Somerset
Full of charm and character, this delightful thatched cottage can be found on a quiet, no-through lane in the tranquil Dorset village of Chideock. Further along the lane, you come to a bridleway that leads to the beach, cliffs and pub at Seatown (1 mile), so you can enjoy early morning strolls to see the sunrise or evening rambles to see the sunset. Located within the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and with the World Heritage Jurassic Coast on your doorstep, there is plenty for families to explore together. Entering through the traditional front door, you are welcomed into this comfortable property by the lovely lounge/diner where you can settle down after a busy day out exploring. To the rear, the bright kitchen is well-equipped and offers access to the enclosed garden. Up the narrow winding staircase, with handrail, you will discover three bedrooms: one good-sized king-size, one small double (accessed on one side) and a cosy single room. There is also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. The village of Chideock offers easy access to the rest of West Dorset, from Lyme Regis to Weymouth, and access to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast is available at a number of places. Charmouth is 5 miles west and has a popular fossil-hunting beach with hammers and goggles available to hire. Further west again is Lyme Regis, a charming seaside town with a range of independent shops and eateries, as well as a family-friendly beach. Heading a short drive east is the bustling seaside resort of West Bay with its harbour and expansive beach. Further along the coast is the unique Chesil Beach, which is 18 miles away from the cottage, and is only a few miles from the many attractions on offer in the seaside resort of Weymouth.
