With its dramatic bridge over the River Tay, romantic cathedral, superb restaurants, speciality shops and quaint, brightly coloured houses, Dunkeld is one of Perthshire's gems; the cathedral is the resting place of the notorious Wolf of Badenoch', rumoured to have played chess with the devil at Huntingtower Castle (14 miles). Immerse yourself in the verdant tranquillity of The Hermitage (2 miles), discover Ossian's Hall and walk the rumbling bridge with its turbulent water below creating a rumbling sound. Visit iconic Scone Palace (18 miles) and spectacular Castle Menzies (22 miles).
