Buxton, Peak District

3 Bedroom Bed in Litton (81231)

Immerse yourselves in rural life with a break in this impressive country cottage in the charming village of Litton, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Bursting with traditional features, this beautifully renovated 17th-century home offers a truly unique place to stay. Located next to the village pub and close to the village shop, you won’t need to stray far, especially with all the walking and cycling routes on your doorstep. A traditional Derbyshire stone cottage, this property is as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside. It is packed with original features, such as exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and stone door frames, which all add character and respect its heritage, but the light tones and stylish touches bring it into the 21st century. The lounge/diner is cosy and comfortable, whilst being bright and spacious, and there’s a wood burner to huddle around on colder evenings. An additional snug offers a little more solitude. The country kitchen is a good size and is well-equipped. Upstairs, there are three delightful bedrooms, a family bathroom and one en-suite shower room. Outside, a small courtyard is ideal for a morning coffee as you prepare for the exciting day ahead. Litton’s central location makes exploring the Peak District relatively easy. To the north, you have the rugged landscape of the Dark Peak, whereas to the south, there are the limestone plateaus of the White Peak, both offering excellent walking/cycling routes. You also have the beauty of Edale (12.5 miles) and Hope Valley (7.5 miles) to explore, or perhaps you’d prefer to head underground, in which case head to the show caves at Castleton (8.5 miles). The popular towns of Bakewell and Buxton are also within 8.5 miles, where you can enjoy their local ‘delicacies’ and soak up the towns’ history.

Tallan Green is a dog friendly holiday cottage.
