Don your walking boots to take on the high fells of Grisedale Pike, Hopegillhead, Grasmoor, High Pike and Haystacks, or, for a slightly less strenuous walk, stroll up Ranerdale to admire the stunning views of the valley and lakes below. Just 4 miles away, the Georgian town of Cockermouth boasts independent shops, cafes and restaurants and is also home to Wordsworth House and Jennings Brewery. Closer to home Lorton offers a well stocked village shop, popular pub and trout fishing lake. Brimming with history, charm and grandeur, the stately accommodation boasts stone mullion windows, antique furniture, original wall panelling and timeless soft furnishings. A wood panelled entrance hall welcomes you into the property, with plenty of space to store bags, coats and boots and a tiled WC complete with a Thomas Crapper lavatory.
