This home from home is located in the pretty village of Bridekirk, 2 miles from the market town of Cockermouth, the birthplace of Wordsworth, where you will be spoilt for choice by the large number of shops and eateries. Bassenthwaite Lake and Lakes Distillery are within 8 miles, and Keswick is only 17 miles away offering an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants, and a theatre. This area offers the perfect base to explore the Northern Lakes; the magnificent fells and peaks of Blencathra and Skiddaw are close by offering great walking opportunities. Visit Whinlatter Forest and follow the Gruffalo trail it s also a great place for mountain biking. The local area is a haven for mountaineering, rock climbing, horse riding, paragliding, and there s a wide selection of water sports on offer including windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding. The Lakes Wildlife Park is only 10 miles away offering a fun day out for all the family. Even on a wet day, there s plenty to do; visit the Aquarium at Maryport, try the indoor climbing walls at Keswick or book a spa day and chill.
