It is located in the heart of Wanlockhead, the highest village in Scotland, a unique, remote spot which remains very accessible from the M74 (8 miles). The village boasts splendid scenery with an abundance of wildlife, and fantastic walking and biking routes are on your doorstep including the Lowther Hills and Southern Upland Way. There is a friendly local inn serving daily meals, and a seasonal Museum of Lead Mining with visitor s centre and café, and you can even try out gold panning. Visit Britain s highest narrow gauge adhesion railway in the neighbouring Leadhills with general store, quality inn and golf course (1.5 miles) or enjoy a tour around the magnificent Drumlanrig Castle (14 miles). Step inside this wonderful spacious house located in an elevated position with splendid glen views and an array of period and quirky features. The well equipped kitchen with central dining area invites you to cook up a storm, with electric range oven with five ring gas hob and a wonderful wood burning range oven. The kitchen is directly followed by the butler s pantry with exposed feature stone walls, wine cooler, two fridges, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine. Finally, completing the ground floor is a handy separate WC and direct access out to the patio and gardens from the rear hall. Heading up the period staircases, you will find six bedrooms: two spacious king size bedrooms, a cosy double, a twin, a double bedroom with additional two single beds with en suite shower room and WC, and another double bedroom with feature Inglenook and a stylish en suite shower room with beautiful exposed stone wall and WC. Finally, completing the wonderful accommodation is the shower room with WC.
