Make magical memories with your family, friends or as a couple at this charming two-bed retreat. Two dogs can come too! A quaint stone cottage from outside, it offers the ultimate in cosy comfort indoors, a summer house outside and wonderful decking overlooking Kielder Water and the forested landscape beyond – there’s even a fantastic wood fired hot tub to enjoy it from. By day these views are great but by night stargazing here will astound you due to the low levels of light pollution. Leave your worries with your outdoor gear in the hallway by the front door. The spacious lounge oozes character with exposed stone walls, stone floor and its wood burner for that extra cosy factor. French doors open onto the extensive decking. The kitchen/diner has rustic stone floors and exposed walls with a fitted kitchen offering all mod cons for cooking up a holiday feast to eat around the wooden table. There’s also a comfortable sofa and another wood burner in a stone inglenook for quiet moments or keeping the chef company. At day’s end, there are two king-size bedrooms – both with reservoir views and a mix of old and new furniture. The outside space is cleverly arranged. The decking leads from the lounge and is extensive, with the hot tub and garden furniture for dining alfresco. To the side, there’s a lawned area with a cute summer house for a different perspective. Beautiful walks go from the doorstep through lovely nature, plus the local pub is just 1 mile away if you fancy a night off cooking. Water sports are available on Kielder Water. Located within Northumberland’s International Dark Skies Park, stargazing is a major draw here. If you want some help, however, visit Kielder Observatory (10 miles) for a guided session or event.
