This charming terraced cottage has been lovingly restored to its former glory, offering a peaceful retreat from the fast paced modern world. Tucked away in the picturesque countryside of the Welsh Marches, it is surrounded by a tranquil village, complete with a flourishing garden, friendly ducks and chickens, and an atmosphere of timeless country living. With its Grade II listed status, the cottage boasts a wealth of original features that add to its elegant Victorian charm. Situated in Norton, just a stone's throw from Prestigne, a quaint town nestled on the banks of the River Lugg in Powys, this idyllic abode is enveloped by rolling hills, verdant fields, and wooded slopes. The landscape is adorned with delightful stone cottages and traditional farmhouses, while the town itself enjoys a delightful historic charm, with its narrow streets and magnificent medieval church at its core. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted by the abundance of scenic trails in the area, including the renowned Offa's Dyke Path, a mere 7.5 miles away. Birdwatchers and wildlife lovers will also be in their element, as the region is teeming with a variety of avian species and enchanting small mammals waiting to be discovered. Enter this Grade II listed cottage at the rear. Inside, the cottage is typically compact but well proportioned, with an inviting quaint country style kitchen with a large Belfast sink, original feature fireplace and flagstone floor with a dining table seating four. The beautifully decorated lounge has a cosy wood burner and a Smart TV. Enjoy watching a film to while away the evening through the in built DVD player. Take the winding stairs to the first floor where there are two bedrooms and one bathroom. The stylish master bedroom has a double antique brass bedstead which is adorned with soft linens and fluffy pillows, ensuring a restful night's sleep. Enjoy far reaching views from your bed while you enjoy a morning cuppa. The second is a spacious single room. The interior is decorated with warm colours and traditional furnishings, creating a homely and comfortable atmosphere. The cottage features a small outdoor space, where residents can enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery of the surrounding countryside. There is a raised natural garden to the back of the cottage where a seating area nestles and offers far reaching views. From here you can listen to the sights and sounds of the visiting wildlife and also glimpse the neighbours ducks and chickens wandering around freely. The natural planting of the flower beds and potted plants add a touch of colour and character to the exterior space.
2 bedrooms 1 double and 1 single with trundle. Sleeps 3 1 (single trundle in the single room). Welcome pack on arrival. 1 bathroom with length bath, separate shower and WC. Electric oven and electric hob, microwave, fridge (no freezer compartment) and washing machine. Wood burner (first basket of logs included). Smart TV with built in DVD player in lounge. Terraced garden area with seating (some areas of the garden have shared access). Sorry no BBQ's. One well behaved dog welcome. Please keep on a lead at all times when in the cottage outside areas to include the garden area . Off road parking (first come first served) and free parking in the village. Pub and shop 2 miles.
