This recently refurbished (2023) three storey townhouse is perfectly located in the centre of the bustling market town of Cockermouth on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Take a trip to the childhood home of famous poet William Wordsworth and explore the beautiful gardens which offer a peaceful retreat from the busy town centre. Cockermouth has an abundance of local shops, art galleries, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Pack your hiking boots and explore the lakes of Bassenthwaite, Buttermere, Crummock and Loweswater, all within an 11 mile radius. Animal lovers will enjoy a trip to Lake District Wildlife Park (7 miles) whilst thrill seekers will love Whinlatter Forest (7 miles) where you can Go Ape or hire bikes to explore the forest trails. The popular market town of Keswick is only 14 miles where you can hire a boat or take a cruise on Derwentwater to enjoy the stunning scenery of the fells. Steep, spiral, cottage style stairs lead to the second floor which features three spacious double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower room, as well as the family bathroom which boasts a bath, perfect for soothing aching muscles. Another set of steep, spiral stairs lead to the third floor which houses a twin bedroom (available on request when you book) with original low beams, perfect for those wanting a floor to themselves. Step outside into your private, enclosed back patio, complete with a BBQ and lovely seating perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or al fresco dining.
