The Snowdonia mountain range is only a 30 minute drive away, and only 8 miles in the opposite direction takes you to the Port of Holyhead where you can catch a ferry for a day trip to Ireland. Alternatively you can visit South Stack that has amazing birdlife, scenery and a lighthouse.
From Bwthyn Tyn y Coed, you’re close to some of the best sandy beaches on Anglesey. However, you’re also just a 30 minute drive from the mountains of Snowdonia. Why not make the most of both regions during your holiday in North Wales? Amazing attractions and activities as well as wonderful walks are all close by.
Bryngwran is a small village and community located on the main trunk road to Holyhead. It lies 8.1 miles west of Llangefni and 5 miles from the popular seaside village of Rhosneigr and is home to a local pub. The location is perfect for touring the island with easy access to the A5. A short drive will take you to the beautiful west coast of Anglesey, famous for its spectacular cliffs and magnificent sandy beaches. Rhosneigr has a varied history including a 6th century church, tales of smugglers, famous off-shore shipwrecks and from the Edwardian era it has been a fashionable holiday destination. Today it is known for its magnificent beaches and renowned watersports, providing some of the best windsurfing and kitesurfing in the UK, with tuition available in the village. The market towns of Llangefni and Holyhead (starting point for day trips to Dublin), and the city of Bangor are within easy travelling distance. Close by is the Anglesey Race Circuit, great for lovers or car and motorbike racing, while on the island you will find Pili Palas Butterfly Farm, Anglesey Sea Zoo and Beaumaris Castle. Boat trips around Puffin Island offer the chance to see nesting puffins and guillemots, or cross to the mainland and enjoy Victorian Llandudno’s shopping, restaurants and dry ski slope, the mountains of Snowdonia and the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula.
