This delightful terraced holiday house, just a stone's throw from the beach, is more like a boutique hotel than a holiday cottage. If you wish, we will deliver cooked meals to you - so a boutique hotel it could be! Beautifully presented, Maelgwyn is bright and chirpy and at the same time sophisticated, calm and relaxing. A great house for special occasions or Christmas and New Year get-togethers!
"The bedrooms in this fab holiday home feel more like a boutique hotel! There's also a great well-equipped kitchen and you're just a short walk to everything!"
The owners have taken such care in renovating and restoring the house - careful colour schemes combined with wooden floors, contemporary bathrooms, and a bright and fun kitchen; the master bedroom is just glorious. It's just a short stroll to the beach, where there are spectacular views across the sea to Harlech with the backdrop of the hills behind. Day or night, this view is fantastic!
The fine seaside town of Criccieth retains a wonderful old-fashioned charm whilst still being contemporary. The butcher offers local produce, and the fantastic Idris Bakery supplies the Portmeirion chefs!
With excellent restaurants, pubs and cafes, Criccieth is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a break or holiday at any time of the year - and Maelgwyn is perfectly located for the town and surrounding attractions.
Often described as the 'Pearl of Wales on the shores of Snowdonia’, this delightful seaside town is situated just 5 miles from Porthmadog. The town’s 13th century castle perches majestically on a rocky outcrop, dominating the skyline and offering superb views of Tremadog Bay and the Snowdonia mountains. Watersports enthusiasts will be delighted by the two beaches, whilst walkers and bikers are spoilt for choice by the proximity of the beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Stroll along the beaches, watch porpoises playing in the surf, or relax in the various pubs, restaurants and tea rooms, sampling the famous Cadwalader’s ice cream. Further afield, attractions such as Portmeirion’s wonderful Italianate gardens, the Ffestiniog railway in Porthmadog, Harlech Castle, Caernarfon Castle and the beautiful beaches and renowned golf courses of the Llyn Peninsula are all within an easy drive.
