The village includes a good butcher and bakery, a Post Office, a grocer, a newsagent, and two pubs, one of which has an award-winning restaurant. There are also two fine restaurants in Allanton that are ideal for fishing and shooting groups, as well as the Cross Inn in Paxton.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
