The historic town of Wooler is situated at the foothills of the Cheviots. Home to a number of eateries and hotels, the town plays host to numerous walking and cycling routes for the energetic travellers. Set between the Northumberland National Park and the Scottish Borders, Wooler has easy links to Alwick Castle and the town of Alnwick, and Berwick-upon-tweed, an unspoilt Garrison town. Just over the border to Scotland you will discover the pretty town of Coldstream which is steeped in history dating back as far as far as the 13th century.
Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.
