Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage site is Belper, a thriving market town steeped in history dating back to the 13th century when it was formally known as Beaurepaire (beautiful retreat). The area still reflects its prior name due to its pretty countryside surroundings and marvellous architecture including the North Mill, as well as other attractions such as Long Row and the River Gardens. The town plays host to local music festivals and boasts a lively arts scene during May for the annual Arts festival, as well as hosting winter and summer food festivals and a monthly farmers market.

The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.
