The area still reflects its prior name due to its pretty countryside surroundings and marvellous architecture including the North Mill, as well as other attractions such as Long Row and the River Gardens. The town plays host to local music festivals and boasts a lively arts scene during May for the annual Arts festival, as well as hosting winter and summer food festivals and a monthly farmers market.
