Located on the island of South Walls, one of the Orkney Islands off the northern coast of Scotland is the important coastal settlement of Longhope. Renowned for its rich maritime history dating back to the Napoleonic wars, the island South Walls is connected to Hoy by the Ayre causeway making it the second largest island in the Orkney Archipelago. Originating directly from the Old Norse word for ‘long bay’, Longhope’s main draw is its tranquil surroundings. Set in its own peaceful seclusion; you can tour the island and visit the impressively restored lifeboat museum that offers rich history on WWI and WWII or relish a hearty meal and cold beverage at one of several pubs on offer. Well-positioned to visit Hoy, Lyness and Rackwick Beach, one of the most remote and beautiful beaches to be found in Orkney, Longhope is an incredible location that is sure to stay with you long after you leave.

Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.
