Historically, the village was the centre of the lead-mining industry in Derbyshire, however, it now offers three pubs, two shops and a wonderful church. Nearby is the picturesque town of Bakewell, offering a plethora of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a market. The Peak District National Park is also within easy reach for stunning walks.
