Kingsdown is a peaceful Kent village with its own shingle beach that leads to the bay of St Margaret. Three pubs, all serving food, a local butcher with delicatessen, a general store, Post Office, and hairdresser are all available in the village. The beaches and cliffs of Kingsdown are part of the Site of Special Scientific Interest that reaches south to Folkestone, and the settlement is located at the northern end of the famed White Cliffs of Dover. The nearby seaside towns of Deal, Dover, and Broadstairs all have castles, museums, heritage, and history to offer visitors, as well as quaint tea rooms. Deal has a pier and two weekly markets, with the Wednesday farmers' market being particularly popular with locals. Inland, Canterbury, with its cathedral, Roman ruins, and fine retail centre, is a popular day trip. This part of Kent is ideal for holidays at any time of year, with a promenade and cliff top walks, scenic cycle rides, golf courses, and breath-taking views from the shore.
Kent is affectionately known as the Garden of England. Its history and heritage provide the region with a rich array of sightseeing possibilities, while the stunning choice of Blue Flag beaches offer the chance to enjoy the beautiful coastline.
