Tywardreath, which means 'The House on the Strand,' is a charming, historic Cornish settlement that appears in Daphne du Maurier's novel of the same name. The town church, St Andrew's, is regarded to boast the best peal of bells in the area, and the village has a vibrant community centred around its great taverns and diverse selection of stores. Near the settlement, there are many safe, sandy beaches with a variety of watersports and recreational activities. A fifteen-minute walk or five-minute drive from the town is Par, a tiny china clay port with a dog-friendly sandy beach and a major line railway station.
Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
