Among the many picturesque towns in the Yorkshire Dales, Grassington stands out. A monthly farmer's market features a tantalising selection of organic and homemade local produce, and quaint stone cottages and shops line the cobbled market place, providing exceptional shopping facilities for a village of this size. Located on the banks of the Wharfe River and bordered to the north by the expansive Grass Woods, this is an excellent walking area. The ruins of Bolton Abbey, as well as the Priory and the Strid Walk, can be found down in the valley. A short distance beyond that is the picturesque town of Ilkley, whose name comes from the nearby Ilkley Moor. Kettlewell and Buckden, located up the dale, are known for their breathtaking limestone landscapes. Grassington serves as an excellent home base for exploring the surrounding area and the many attractions that the Yorkshire Dales have to offer, including Bronte Country and the historic cities of York.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
