Carisbrooke is a lively village on the Isle of Wight, situated on the outskirts of Newport to the south. This community is a wonderful base, with a range of amenities to suit all interests, and is best known for Carisbrooke Castle, a centre of attraction that has served as an Elizabethan artillery bastion, a king's jail, and a royal summer house. There are two pubs in the village: The Waverley, a Victorian-era bar and inn, and The Eight Bells, a Grade II listed pub, as well as a Turkish restaurant, an Italian restaurant, and a small shop.
