Reeth sits in the northern extremity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, tucked between Calver Hill, Fremington Edge, and Harkerside, and is a popular tourist destination. Reeth, an area of outstanding natural beauty with undulating hills and breathtaking views, has a rich history that includes Saxon settlement, lead mining town, and centre of hand knitting. The Swaledale Museum, which is nestled among a variety of retail establishments, tea houses, and restaurants, honours both professions. Three traditional inns are available in Reeth, including the charming Buck Hotel, whitewashed like many of the 18th century cottages packed around the village green. Richmond and Leyburn, both historic market towns, are both nearby and both offer a wide range of attractions. Askrigg, Aysgarth Falls, Semerwater, and Hardraw Force (England's highest single-drop waterfall at 99ft) are all within a few minutes' drive of each other.
