Ardrossan is a lovely seaside village between Irvine and West Kirkbride on Scotland's Ayrshire coast. Cannon Hill Castle, a relic of the town's mediaeval past, was built in the 12th century, today Ardrossan boasts a beautiful harbour and a stunning stretch of golden sand along both its northern and southern beaches. A variety of pubs and restaurants, such as Cecchini's Ardrossan Restaurant and Pub, and food outlets, such as a few different fish and chip shops, round out the beachside experience. Visitors can explore the ruins of Ardrossan Castle, spend the day lounging on the beach, or take a ferry to the neighbouring Isle of Arran, where they can hike to the top of Goatfell for breath-taking views of the Scottish coast. Eglinton Country Park, Cleeves Cove, Kilwinning Abbey, and Pollok Country Park may be found in the interior, while the Maritime Museum can be found in Irvine, located along the coast. From your home base in Ardrossan, you can explore the stunning Aryshire shoreline.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
