Dingwall, located near the mouth of the Cromarty Firth, has a long history that dates back to the Norse era. With its pedestrianised main street, the town has a wide variety of cafes and boutiques, as well as a wide variety of services and facilities. To learn more about the history of Dingwall, why not take a one-and-a-half-hour walk along the Dingwall Heritage Trail? A short drive from Dingwall is the historic spa town of Strathpeffer, where you can catch a glimpse of the Moray Firth Dolphins leaping into the air. The RSPB Tollie red kites natural reserve is also close enough to Inverness for day outings to Inverness Castle, trampoline park, Inverness Botanic Gardens, and the many shops on the city's streets.
From the lush green farmlands of the Borders to the ruggedness of the Highlands, the Scots are proud of their land and identity. Scotland also has some of Britain’s best beaches with glorious stretches of clean sand over which to roam.
