The small town of Dulverton, at the confluence of the Barle and Exe rivers, serves as the southern entrance to Exmoor National Park. Dulverton is known for its picturesque narrow streets lined with beautiful Victorian architecture and its three-arched bridge that spans the river and provides access to scenic riverside walkways. Dulverton is home to a wide variety of retail establishments, eateries, and watering holes, not to mention the Exmoor National Park visitor centre and art gallery located in the town square. Take an off-road safari through Exmoor to see red deer, wild ponies, and exotic birds. Light pollution is minimal in this area, making it ideal for stargazing, and Exmoor has been designated as a Dark Sky Reserve. Wimblewall Country Park, home to Exmoor's first Dark Skies Discovery Centre, features a beautiful lake not far from Dulverton. Wimblewall is known as one of the best places to go trout fishing, and it also offers lessons in sailing, windsurfing, and canoeing. Minehead's sandy beaches, North Somerset's picturesque harbours, and Porlock Weir's abundant wild walking opportunities are all worth the trip. Excellent holiday destination for nature lovers who want to experience varied terrain and a wide variety of animal life.
