In the Peak District National Park, Bakewell is conveniently located for visiting this stunning area. Within reasonable driving distance is Britain's top theme park, Alton Towers, as well as the rocky Dark Peak and the softer limestone White Peak. There are several historic homes to visit, including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Hardwick Hall, to name just a few. It's also worthwhile to see Little John's burial site in Hathersage and the amazing caverns in neighbouring Castleton.
