Pateley Bridge is a picturesque Dales town perched in the narrow valley of the River Nidd. In 2016, it was named Britain's Best Village High Street. Several award-winning butchers, a fishmonger, a bakery, and the oldest sweet shop in England can be found in the quaint little alleys and yards off the steep main street, along with many other interesting shops selling a wide variety of unusual gifts and mementos. Pateley Bridge is known for its award-winning flower displays, as well as its riverside park and children's playground. The nearby leisure centre also features a swimming pool. The town's Craft Workshops and the Nidderdale Museum, which houses a lively collection of displays illustrating all aspects of Dales life in the past, are also well worth a visit. The Nidd Valley is a fantastic place to go hiking, biking, and birdwatching, both upstream and downstream.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?
