Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. The antique Roman walls and amphitheatre, mediaeval cathedral, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses, Georgian terraces, Victorian restorations, and contemporary architecture are all within a relatively small area, making this city one of the most fascinating in the world. There is a lot to see and do in the city, including great shopping in and around the historic Tudor "Rows" and peaceful strolls along the Roman Walls, the banks of the River Dee, and the beautiful Grosvenor Park. Visit the stunning Chester Cathedral, watch a race at Chester Racecourse, or spend the day at the famous Chester Zoo. Liverpool, Manchester, and the North Wales coast are within easy travelling distance, as are the beautiful Welsh mountains and shoreline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire, and the Wirral Peninsula, home to world-class golf courses.

Littered with rural villages, half-timbered buildings and heritage sites, with links to the neighbouring cities of Manchester and Liverpool, Cheshire offers picturesque landscape scenery in North West England.
