Cleator Moor is a small town in the English county of Cumbria, just a few miles inland from Whitehaven and the shore. The town has a few bars, a few stores, and a few other small enterprises, as well as a Mart Square with three sculptures by Conrad Atkinson, a local artist who has gained international renown. The C2C Cycle Route, which runs from Whitehaven to Sunderland, passes through this area, as does a section of the West Cumbria Cycle Network. Bicyclists can enjoy a leisurely ride along the path of the once-bustling Whitehaven, Cleator and Egremont and Rowrah and Kelton Fell Railways, all of which operated in the 1850s. Whitehaven, a port town on the western coast of Cumbria, offers a broader range of services and is worth visiting for its golf course, Beacon Museum, and Jefferson's Shop, among other things. Spend some time at one of the local beaches like Providence Bay Beach, Tanyard Bay Beach, or Fleswick Bay during the summer months, or explore the Lake District National Park for hiking and other outdoor activities. Cleator Moor is a great base from which to discover the surrounding area.
Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.
