The market square is surrounded by a wide variety of historic stores, bars, and cafés in the town centre. A little further away is the well-known seaside town of Bude, which offers something for everyone: wonderful beaches for lounging and making sandcastles, rockpools to explore at low tide, and cafes from which to take it all in. Take the coast road north to see the lone lighthouse perched above the water at Hartland Point, or enjoy a donkey ride or a stroll down the picturesque Clovelly's steep, cobblestone village street (no cars permitted) to the port and tavern far below.
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?
