In the south-west of the gorgeous County Wexford, a village called Fethard-on-Sea is tucked away to the east of the Hook Peninsula. The lifeboat disaster of 1914 and the Fethard-on-Sea Boycott, which was immortalised in book and on film, are only two examples of the vibrant history of Fethard-on-Sea. Fethard, now a peaceful fishing and vacation destination, is a fantastic starting point for exploring the area's sandy beaches, shops, and bars. The historic lighthouse and numerous beaches on the Hook Peninsula continue to draw tourists. On the Peninsula, there is a beach every day for a fortnight, in addition to a number of watersports like diving, snorkelling, and shore angling, as well as painting and birdwatching. As well as the mediaeval abbeys in Dunbrody and Graiguenamanagh, as well as the star-shaped Elizabethan Fort at Duncannon, which houses a military and maritime museum, and The Cockleshell Art Gallery, there are many other fascinating historical sites to explore. Travel to Waterford in the west or Wexford in the east to experience everything they have to offer, from the Wexford Opera House, Johnstown Castle, and The Heritage Park to Waterford Castle and Waterford Crystal. Head up to New Ross and check out the JFK Arboretum or the Dunbrody Famine Ship.

Known as the “Sunny South East”, the counties of Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, and Tipperary offer everything you could need for a dream holiday in Ireland. Miles of sandy beach and scenic drives taking in mountains and coast are on your doorstep.
