The Milking Parlour is a large barn conversion on the owners' 250 acre farm near to the village of Westhope in Shropshire. The cottage can sleep eleven people and has five bedrooms (one super king, one king, two twins and a super king family room - zip/link, can be twin on request) three of which are ensuite and two family bathrooms. The rest of the accommodation is made up of an open plan living area with a fitted kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. Outside the cottage is off road parking for four cars and an enclosed patio area with outdoor furniture, charcoal barbecue (charcoal not included) and a private hot tub. With its neighbouring cottages, The Milking Parlour can sleep a total of thirty six people in a lovely rural setting.
The scattered village of Westhope is located amidst rolling farmland at the southern foot of the famous Wenlock Edge in Hope Valley. The area is home to numerous walks, rambling trails and cycle routes whilst manyof Shropshire's main attractions are within easy driving distance of the village itself. Visitors can enjoy Church Stretton - known to the Victorians as Little Switzerland - with its antique shops and tea-rooms, in the midst of the beautiful Long Mynd Hills and close to the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm and the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre. The World Heritage Site at Ironbridge, Attingham Park, the market towns of Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury and Ludlow are all within easy reach, leaving visitors to the area spoiled for choice.
A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.
