Wem is a charming market town nestled on the outskirts of the Shropshire Hills AONB, conveniently situated on the borders of England and Wales, making it the ideal base for exploring this delightful region. The town is home to quaint shops, pubs and cafés but it known for its Thursday market located outside the town hall. Nearby is the town of Shrewsbury, the birthplace of Charles Darwin, where you will find a statue in his memorial outside the public library. Shrewsbury is also known for its historic castle and stunning abbey, making for a fascinating day out.
