Staple Fitzpaine is a pretty conservation village of cottages, almshouses, a church and a pub, all set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty at the foot of the Blackdown Hills. In Staple Fitzpaine is Sunnyside, a detached, converted barn in the grounds of the owners' home, totally secluded and with its own pretty, enclosed patio and garden. The spacious open plan living area has a high raftered ceiling, wooden floors and full height picture windows and patio doors which fill the room with light. The cottage has level access, wide doorways and a walk-in shower, making it a suitable choice for guests with limited mobility. In addition to the double bedroom, a sofa bed is provided in the lounge. Additional charges: Heating: £25 Once Per Week. Pets: One pet welcome at £30 Per Week
Taunton is a town that has stone and Tudor architecture, with a history stretching back over 100 years. It offers amenities with the Orchard Shopping Centre and a selection of eateries. Taunton has a choice of museums and parks. The Quantock and Blackdown Hills AONB are easily accessible, as well as the Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. The coast is 20 miles away, with Weston-super-Mare slightly further afield, but well worth the journey with its great range of activities.
Somerset offers 3 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Quantock, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. Lose yourself in the glory of nature, take a ride on a steam train, visit a traditional farmer's' market or explore your mystical side at Glastonbury.
