Calliope House is a mid-terrace, period property nestled in the heart of Yorkshire's Whitby, near the beach, shops and pubs. Set over four floors, it boasts four bedrooms; a super king-size double (zip/link can be twins on request), another king-size double, a second floor double and a second floor twin, sleeping eight altogether. There is also a bathroom, first floor cloakroom, second floor shower room and lower ground floor WC and basin, as well as a lower ground floor kitchen/diner with a gas fired stove and utility, followed by a sitting room and snug. Outside is roadside parking on a first come, first served basis, with a parking permit provided, a front, enclosed terraced garden with patio, furniture and a summerhouse, along with a small rear courtyard. Calliope House is a fabulous base in North Yorkshire.
The fishing port of Whitby lies at the mouth of the River Esk and is ideally situated for exploring the North York Moors and ever-changing coastal scenery. Whitby town centre is made up of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a bustling harbour, safe sandy beaches, the Captain Cook Memorial Museum and of course the Abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
