Make special memories when you retreat to this substantial group retreat near Ystradgynlais in South Wales. Sleeping 20 guests, it is the ideal holiday home for several families or a large party of friends. Nested on a working farm in Bannau Brycheiniog, or the Brecon Beacons National Park, the eight-bedroom property comprises a stone barn and long house. It is happy to accommodate dogs and sits in half an acre of grounds. Wander inside to find rustic accommodation with an abundance of warmth and comfort. Gather in the lounge in the farmhouse, where a wood burner sits in a stone inglenook and there are heavy oak beams. Play games or watch the TV. Take turns at preparing dishes in the kitchen/diner then set the table in the dining room to congregate at mealtimes. A utility room, a double bedroom and a family bathroom are also downstairs. A twin and two family rooms, with a double bed, single and cot, are on the first floor, together with a family bathroom. One of the family rooms has an en-suite WC. The other bedrooms are through in the converted barn, which can be accessed via the dining room. Here a family room, with a double bed and a single, and a twin can be found on both the ground and first floors. A family bathroom is also upstairs. Some bedrooms have characterful sloping ceilings. Spread outside on warm days to play rounders and cricket together on the grass and for lively picnics in the sunshine. Supervise children and pets near the stream and the river, which does have a fence. Venture into Ystradgynlais to stock up on produce and wander round the park featuring the remains of old ironworks. Take your party for a long walk through Craig-y-nos Country Park, 9.5 miles away.
